Marc Craig is a London-based artist whose intricate doodles turn walls into worlds of discovery. His work invites people to look closer: what first appears to be a single animal reveals a whole landscape of shapes, characters and stories. Through The Ark of Extinction, Marc brings wildlife into everyday spaces, using art to spark curiosity and conversation about the species we risk losing.
Community is central to Marc’s approach. From a red squirrel in Cornwall to a barn owl in Belfast and a blue whale above London’s Leake Street, each mural connects an animal with a place and its people. Working with local residents, schools, artists and conservation groups, he creates opportunities to participate through talks, workshops and shared creativity. The aim is for the conversation to continue long after the mural is finished.
Marc is now offering free indoor murals for suitable public-facing spaces, inspired by his Chilean puma at St Anna Cafe in Chelsea. These collaborations give cafés, libraries, schools and community centres a chance to host their own wildlife story. Murals also become digital artworks available as prints through his art shop, helping sustain his practice and future projects—and allowing a piece of The Ark to find a home on your wall.
